The Onion once wrote a piece of satire where God himself was criticized for his word selection in a piece titled “God Finally Gives Shout-Out Back To All His Niggaz.”  The Onion’s satire said, “Despite the overwhelmingly positive response among rappers, the Lord is drawing fire in certain circles for His use of the word ‘nigga.’”

We get it.  Stick with us.  We have interesting things in the pipeline.

On June 19, 2017, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that First Amendment free speech applies to trademarks. In the landmark 8-0 decision in Matal v. Tam, the Supreme Court recognized that trademarks could be used, for example, to “reclaim” and “take ownership” of stereotypes.

Justice Kennedy remarked with respect to the band “The Slants”, “respondent endeavors to use The Slants to supplant a racial epithet, using new insights, musical talents, and wry humor to make it a badge of pride.”

On this Launch Day, July 4, 2017, we are declaring a new independence for this word – our brand.
